Today is the one-year anniversary of my Grandma Ginia's death. She battled Alzheimer's for many years, so it was a blessing to see her struggle end. However, we will always miss her. Truth is, we have missed her for years.
SO! To keep her memory and legacy alive, I have called on my family to remember her this weekend in the way that she is most remembered - her hospitality.
She's the reason we started those Sunday Lunches back in 2009 as a New Year's Resolution. We stopped doing those so consistently once Garrett was born because Sundays are hard.
But now that Garrett is a little more flexible (as are we!), we hope to bring Sunday lunches back, in memory of Grandma Ginia.
To kick off this endeavor, we're making her famous enchiladas this Sunday and inviting some friends over. Hopefully, we can be more consistent this time. I want Garrett growing up like my dad did, not knowing who was coming over for lunch, but knowing someone was!
