Eljay, meet Max! ...then stay in the trunk for a few days...
Aunt Christy is an artist. She just opened a studio about 5 months ago above a coffee shop in downtown Newburyport (for you Gilmore Girls fans, Newburyport is just like Stars Hollow). Here, her art is displayed in the local Starbucks. I tried to order it at the counter...

What is there to do on a rainy day? Go shopping, of course! We found this CUTE vintage thrift store called "Modern Millie." Since "Thoroughly Modern Millie" is one of my favorite movies (and musical) of all time, it seemed like I was meant to purchase something here...
...and I did! (wasn't able to turn this pic around...)
Well, since Max was with us on our shopping adventure, we had to go to a doggie bakery so he could pick out a treat.
Here's Max, so happy that he got some attention...from the entire town. I tell ya', kids and adults swarm this cutie anytime we take him out.
Eric was able to work from Boston on Thursday! His co-workers and some clients work in Boston, so he finally got to meet them face-to-face. Eric and I went to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox. We didn't think there would be many people because of the Lakers/Celtics game that night, too.
But there were! The park was SO crowded! These Red Sox fans are great, too! They were so lively. It was funny because half of the fans were wearing Celtics shirts. Every once in awhile, the crowd would start yelling, "Beat LA! Beat LA!" It was great.
We tried to take the Green Line back to our train station...but there was a complication with the Green Line... and we missed our train. So, we had to call Aunt Christy to come get us. :( The thing is... Aunt Christy is a Celtics fan and Grandma Jo is a Lakers fan (big time!). They had a little wager going about the game, so it was a big deal for Aunt Christy to leave the TV and come get us. But family comes first! Plus, we made it back in time to see the last 5 minutes of the game...poor Celtics...
On Friday, Uncle Don and Eric decided to take a vacation day! Yay!! We had so much fun together. We ate at this cute diner on the water, and Eric wore his "Holla at your buoy" shirt.

We walked and shopped in downtown Newburyport and got t-shirts and ice cream.
We went to the cutest farm market and picked out things for dinner.
We fed the llama...
We cooked the dinner we picked out...or we made Uncle Don do it...
...and we ate dinner outside...mmmmmm
Then, because we ate so much, we took a long walk together with Max. This red building is the courthouse with a cute pond next to it. In the winter, the pond freezes over and the kids ice skate on it. So idyllic! We have GOT to come back in the winter. Can you imagine this place with a frozen pond and snow on the hillsides with all the kids playing on the ice? So. stinkin. cute.

Part two will include the Rail Trail, a vintage baseball game (think Field of Dreams), and dinner on the beach. Love this place!

Laura, this is so fun....do you just want to randomly yell out ROAD TRIP at crazy times? Thanks for sharing all of these memories with us. PS. please make my day and tell me that llama's name is Tina :P
