Recipe for a great 4th of July Weekend:
Step One: Kaboom Town in Addison!

Step Two: Run into good friends amidst the thousands of people there.

Step Three: Have a cute, but slightly hungry hubby to share the evening with.

Hiccup 1: Unfortunately, a massive group of middle school boys with iPhones decided to creep into my personal space...and take up a square of my quilt.

Step 4: Go to McKinney's Historical Village a wonderful Ice Cream Crank-Off. Taste Watermelon Ice Cream made by some friends. Taste a million other ice creams such as Mango Habanero, Chocolate Orange, Dr Pepper Peanut, Thanksgiving, and Lemon Basil Sorbet. mmm!

Step 5: Enjoy the ambiance of super-patriotic people (whether that's patriotic to the USA or to Texas...).
Step 6: Enjoy DeLena's victory in the Fruit Ice Cream part of the competition! Go Watermelon Ice Cream!!

Step 7: Enjoy the evening with some friends at a cookout and some rockin' Rock Band. Sing your heart out!

Step 8: (not pictured) Drive home and watch fireworks again along the way. On Sunday, play tennis and go swimming with your hubby. Top it off with a good Harry Potter movie and pizza.
Enjoy!
